I interviewed Tim Ash last week. I found Tim Ash by reading a print magazine called Website Magazine. The reason I wanted to interview Tim is because he “wrote the book” on landing page optimization called Landing Page Optimization: The Definitive Guide to Testing and Tuning for Conversions. The reason that this might be important for entrepreneurs and small businesses is because if we are able to learn how to convert more leads or orders we can change the economics of our business over night.
In speaking with Tim I found him to be highly efficient in his speaking and to the point on all of my questions. He spills out the facts on this call and has the client roster base and the book to back it up on landing page conversions. He shares many simple “secrets” on how to increase conversions on your web pages and the good thing is we can all do them for short money and little time.
Tim works closely with Google and I think Google may even be one of his customers. Tim goes into detail on how and why we want to be on both the Google natural SEO side of the pages as well as the paid side of Google PPC. From a landing page perspective Time is looking for repeatable, reliable organic or paid traffic. He finds in multiple studies that you have more credibility because people will click thru on both links. You have more “screen real estate,” therefore more creditability. The economics are in favor of doing both PPC and SEO.
