My next operating system – Open source
Am I the only person who has issues with the Wintel platform? Does anyone else ever have browser lock up, system reboot’s, blue screen’s, just plain frozen screens when nothing works, memory errors etc. Or am i unique? I was on Digg today and tool a look at a really cool post that has 50 replacements for 50 top software applications. I’m interested. I’m at the point where my Dell Latitude D820 is about a year old and is ready for the old low level format and re-install of all software and files.
There is an alternative called Ubuntu. I’m very interested. If you have information on this operating system send this way. In the mean time I’ll do my home work and let the readers know how it goes. Oh, yeah, I heard the price is right as well, $0.
Ubuntu is a community developed operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. Whether you use it at home, at school or at work Ubuntu contains all the applications you’ll ever need, from word processing and email applications, to web server software and programming tools.
Ubuntu is and always will be free of charge. You do not pay any licensing fees. You can download, use and share Ubuntu with your friends, family, school or business for absolutely nothing.
